Burnice Warren Jr., 85, of 1111 East Williams Circle, Elizabeth City, died Monday, February 2, 2004, in the Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Burnice Warren Sr. and the late Marian Jordan Warren. He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, a member of the Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church, an amateur radio operator for over 70 years with call letters, W4TLA. Also, Mr. Warren was a member of the Parkinson's Support Group and was instrumental in establishing the 911 Commission. Mr. Warren enjoyed raising flowers and particularly orchids. Mr. Warren is survived by his wife of 62 years, Daphne Bartholomew Warren, three daughters, Marian "Cookie" W. Stokes of Elizabeth City, Jane W. VonSchaaf and husband, Karl, of Coinjock, NC, and Susan W. Touchberry and husband, Ron, of Elizabeth City; two brothers, William Warren and Errol Warren both of Rocky Mount, NC; five grandchildren, Warren Stokes, Athens, GA, Kristen Stokes, Lilburn, GA, Graham Staples, Raleigh, NC Stuart Culpepper and Sarah Culpepper both of Elizabeth City. Services will be conducted Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 10:30am in the Twiford Memorial Chapel by Revs. Samuel O. Jones and Leigh Gillis. Burial will be Thursday at 4:00pm in Pine View Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends and relatives in the lobby Twiford Funeral Home immediately following the chapel service and at other times at their residence, 1111 E. Williams Circle. Also, the family will gather at the Johnson Funeral Home, 1912 Sunset Ave., Rocky Mount, NC from 3:00 until interment time Thursday afternoon. The family suggests that memorial gifts may be made to either the Cann Memorial Presbyterian Church Youth Group, P. O.
