Denis is the son of Jehan Gaudet and Marie Daussy. He came to Port Royal in 1636. He married Martine Gauthier (1619-1678) in 1645, in Port Royal, Acadie. They are the parents of at least the following:
1) Anne (1646-1678) md Pierre Vincent
2) Marie (1650-1734) md (a) Olivier Daigle and (b) John Fardel
3) Pierre (1652-1741) md Anne Blanchard
4) Pierre* (1654-1709) md Marie Blanchard
5) Marie (1657-) md Martin Aucoin

He is the grandfather of Abraham Gaudet.
