Randy Cole, 69, of the Middle River Community of Franklin County died Monday morning March 23, 2015 at his residence.

Randy was the son of the late Billy Joe Cole and the late Annie Lois Means Cole. Randy was a 1964 graduate of Franklin County High School and attended the University of Georgia. He was a retired cattle and poultry farmer.

Mr. Cole was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam Conflict as a radio technician. His duties included radio surveillance of enemy transmissions. As such he was the first to hear the distress calls from the U.S.S. Pueblo. He was also stationed in the Philippines, Cyprus and Taiwan.

Randy is survived by his sister, Sally Cole Pope, brother-in-law Edward Lee Pope III of Atlanta and a brother, Joseph Scott Cole of Carnesville along with many cousins and friends of the family.

Services will be Saturday March 28, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home with the Rev. W.G. Edwards officiating. Music will be provided by cousins of the family. Interment will follow in the family plot of Ebenezer Cemetery at Ashland, Georgia.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home Saturday March 28, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.
