John Wood, 85, died early Wednesday morning at his home near Clifty, madison county. He was born December 28, 1865 at Kirksville, Missouri. He had been engaged in farming from early manhood until he retired.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Rambo cemetery east of Rogers, conducted by Rev. Bill Oxford at Baptist minister of the Clifty community.

The Callison-Porter Funeral home directed the arrangements.

Survivors include a son, James C. Wood, of Rogers,AR; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Chaney, and Miss Edith Wood of Muskogee, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Kate Brammer, of Rudy, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
