BETH ANN ABERNATHY
HICKORY-Beth Ann Abernathy, 35, of Hickory, NC, passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of March 17th, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Abernathy Junior; grandparents, Ralph Abernathy Senior, Mabel Abernathy, Jack Carpenter, Bonnie Carpenter; Uncle, Gerald Carpenter; childhood pet FeFe.
She is survived by her mother, step father, brother, step siblings, her aunt, uncle, Grandmother, nephew, numerous cousins, close friends and long time furry companion, Binky.
Beth graduated from East Burke High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Appalachian State University. She spent most of her time pet sitting and working with rescue dogs at Camille Hall’s rescue resort.
She was known for her love of nature and all animals from slithery snakes to ferocious dogs; drawing and crafting until her fingers ached; making to-do lists that rarely had anything scratched off of them.
Beth was an old soul and a bit shy until she got to know you. But, once she got to know you, nothing was off limits. She was tenderhearted and compassionate - always putting everyone before herself. If you were part of her inner circle, she always made you feel unique, like the only person in the world, filled with love, even if it was unspoken. She will be forever missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Dennis Tomlinson officiating.
Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations are providing professional services to the Abernathy Family.
