The date on the stone says that William Died July 10, 1895, but all the military records state that he died Oct. 11, 1895. His daughter Lillie Pearl Cantrell Davis had this stone laid on her fathers grave and was not sure of the date of death. (Lillie states this in the deposition that she gave to the investigating officer.) She was a young girl when William died. I am keeping the date of Oct. 11, 1895 as his death date, because this is what all the documentation that i have says is his death date.
