Earline Fanner departed this life January 9, 2015. Services for Mrs. Earline Fanner are as follows: Visitation Fri. January 16, 2015, 10am. Funeral 11am. Services will be held at Wesley Chapel AME. Church 2209 Dowling St. Interment Houston Memorial Gardens.

Earline Fanner was born to Earl Harper, Sr. and Pearl S. (Harper) Green (deceased) on November 18, 1932. She was born in Bellville/Buckhorn, Texas. She had three siblings: Earl Harper, Jr. (deceased), Willie Mae Jones (deceased), and Marvin T. Harper (deceased).

Mrs. Fanner attended Booker T. Washington High School and Texas Southern University where she obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Work. Mrs. Fanner was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was the “Big Sister” on the pledge line to the late Texas State Representative, Barbara Jordan.

Professionally, Mrs. Fanner has worked in the public school system as a High School English Teacher in Goose Creek Consolidated ISD, Kirbyville ISD, and a School Registrar in the Houston Independent School District where she retired after 38 years of service.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Nelson Fanner, Jr, (deceased) and from that union she had two children: a son, Mr. Nelson Temple Fanner, III (deceased) and a daughter Dr. Constance Harris- Russell. She had one grandson: James Nelson Harris, age 20.

She attended the African Methodist Episcopal Church all of her life and has attended Wesley Chapel AME church for 40+ years. Throughout the years, she has served in numerous ministries including the youth church. She played the piano for the youth choir, Sunday school ministry, Missionary Society, Church newspaper.
