She was the second wife of Gustave Ostroske. Gustav's first wife Wilhelmina died in childbirth. They married in Volhynia. Emilia and children Alex, Emil, Carl, and Mena** (born in 1899- either a Mena who later died, or perhaps Mena wasn't born in 1910 as stated on the 1920 census)came to Philadelphia on the ship Belgenland on June 4 1900. The family believed that Emilia was pregnant while traveling and the baby was born in Philadelphia and died. It must have been Carl, who actually was on the ship and died three weeks after the family arrived in Philadelphia. The family went to the same address as their father- 1128 Fletcher Street. Their surname was spelled 'Ostrowska'. She was listed as 'Hebrew'.

*Film # 1897588-2/1880; page 143- reg 216. Records show the following 3 siblings of Emile:
1-Wilhelm Gottlieb Zielke (June 30 1872 Friedrichsdorf)
2-Karoline Zielke (May 18 or 30 1874 Marianka)
3-Gottlieb Zielke (June 24 1876 Marianka)
**Mena was born about 1899. So either she was a Mena who later died, or else the Mena listed on the 1920 census obviously wasn't born in 1920.
***There is a slight possibility that Karl (1899-1900) may have been Gustav and Wilhelmina Milke's son.
