Services for Mrs. Vivan McDonald Todd Holman, 87, of Mart, were held Wednesday, Aug, 28, 1996 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia, with Minister Joe Lucas officiating.

Burial followed at Coolidge Cemetery.

Mrs. Holman died Tuesday, Aug., 27, 1996, at Park Plaza Nursing Home in Mart, where she has resided for the month prior to her passing.

The ninth of 14 children, Mrs. Holman was born Oct 7, 1908 in Sweetwater, Texas to John and Lucy Spruiell McDonald.

She and Ernest Vester Todd were united in marriage Feb. 28, 1926, in Munger, Texas, near Coolidge. Mr. Todd died April 30, 1961.

She and Ben Holman were married April 3, 1965. Mr. Holman passed away in June, 1971.

Mrs. Holman was a homemaker and member of the Coolidge Church of Christ. Following the death of Mr. Todd she was employed at Anna's Cafe before taking positions at Goodrich Variety Store and Glover's Variety Store.

She had lived in Mart since 1993.

Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Homer (Maxine) Copley, in 1983; a son, Ernest V. (Bud) Todd, in 1971; and a great-grandson, Gregory Smith, in 1974.

Mrs Holman is survived by: three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Walter Carrol Williams, of Mart, Faye and Bobby Beene, of Cleburne, and Nelda and Robert Foster, of Victoria, Texas; a son, Sgt. Major USMC Ret. William A. (Bill) Todd, of Mexia; a son-in-law, Homer Copley, of Coolidge; a sister, Jessie Walraven, of Waco; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers at Mrs. Holman's services were grandsons Robert Foster and Ronald W. Foster,of Victoria; Mark E. Foster of Carthage, Texas; Allen Copley and James Copley, of Mexia; and great-grandson, John Walter Desmuke,of Mart.
