MRS. CLARA SMITH

Mrs Clara Smith, of New Virginia, R.D.2, Sharon, died in Buhl
Hospital at 12:55 a.m. Sunday morning after an operation. Mrs. Smith, who had been ill a week, was 63.

She was born in Hickory Township Feb. 27, 1885, a daughter of John and Jennie Bowie Casedy and lived in this district all her life. She was a member of the New Virginia Methodist Church.

Mrs. Smith's first husband, Lee Zimmerman, died in 1924. Their son, Arthur Zimmerman, died in 1926.

Albert Smith, to whom she was married in 1930, died last April 11, 1948.

Mrs. Smith had been employed for the past four months as a housekeeper at the home of George L. Brainard, Case Ave.

Surviving are a step-son, Walter Smith, Bethel; six step-daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Jarrett, Mrs. Jacob Young, Mrs. Frank Hast and Mrs. William Horsman, all of R.D.2, Sharon, Mrs. Merle Bartholomew, Buhl Farm Dr., and Mrs. Robert Anderson, Greenfield; and four brothers, John and Albert Casedy, both of Clarksville; Clarence Casedy, Detroit, and Rudy Casedy, who lives in Canada.

Funeral services for Mrs Clara Smith of New Virginia, R.D.1 Sharon, was conducted by Rev. J.N. Croxall of West Middlesex in the McCartney Funeral Home at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Albert Jarrett, William Horsman Jr., Frank Hast Jr., Ted Green, Harry Rankin and Walter Casedy.
