Retired carpenter, auxiliary member was WWII vet.

KERRVILLE, Texas--Harry Rankin of San Satonio passed away at 11a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Edgewater Care Center, Kerrville. He was 85.

Mr. Rankin was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Fayette County, Pa., a son of of Harry Rankin and Henrietta Ringer Rankin. He retired as a member of Local 268 of the Carpenters Brotherhood of Sharon, Pa. and was a retired member of Mercer County Fireman's Police Auxiliary. Harry was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Irene A. Rankin; a daughter, Judith Nichols and her husband Charles, Ohio; a daughter, Delinda McCarrier and her companion Ron Pethick, San Antonio; a son, Martin Rankin and his companion Wilma Johnson, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Donna Thompson and her husband Keith, Pennsylvania; a son GaryRankin, Pennsylvanaia; a son Paul Rankin and his companion Christne Molina, San Antonio; sisters, Irene Crupe, Ann Phillips and Mary Jane Williams, all of Washington, Pa.; and Geraldine Fisher and her husband Gifford; Freta Ritz; and Dotty Campbell and her husband Larry, all Uniontown, Pa.; and brothers , Ronald Rankin and James Rankin, also Uniontown.

Harry also leaves 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Donald Rankin; a sister, Gladys Bush; and a daughter, Martha Moldovan.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Calling hours: Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today (4-24-08) in TONDUE-GUINN FUNERAL HOME, 1016 Lorenzo St., Castroville. Texas.
Memorial service at 7 p.m. today in funeral home.
BURIAL: His remains will be transferred at a later date to Sharon, Pa., for burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, Pa.
