Brenda Starnes Simmons, age 66, of Morris Creek Road, Granite Falls, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born December 6, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Dewey and Lita Bumgarner Starnes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Jackson Simmons; and one infant sister, Victoria Starnes.
Mrs. Simmons was a self-employed beautician and was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael Wayne Simmons and wife Marty Blocker Simmons and their children Emily Caroline Simmons and Ethan Michael Simmons, all of Bethlehem; and one brother, Dennis H. Starnes and wife Sharon of Granite Falls.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. at
Temple Hill Baptist Church, 4400 Temple Hill Church Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630 conducted by Rev. Gordon West and Rev. Lori Blocker. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donaver Evans, Ronnie Lail, Zachary Miller, Jackie Starnes, Mark Starnes and Rev. Max West.
