Mrs. Jane Colvin Harding died Tuesday afternoon [05 Jan 1926] at 2:15 in this city at her home on Depot Street. The deceased was a devout member of the local Baptist church and lived a pure and consecrated christian life. She was born in Taylor County, February 14th, 1846. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Washington Colvin. On September 27th, 1864 she was married to Mr. Abel Harding and to this union six children were born. Two of whom preceded her to the grave. They were Abraham who died in infancy and John Harding who passed away a few years ago. The four who survive are Messers. Samuel and Abel Harding of this city, Mrs. R. F. Hord also of this city and Mrs. J. W. Fowler of Chattanooga, Tenn. The decedent is also survived by one brother, Mark Colvin of this county and one sister, Mrs. Lois Farmer now of Louisville. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 9:30 at the home by Rev. Wm. Kirtley and the remains will be buried in the Colvin cemetery near Old Pitman. To the surviving members of her family, brothers, sisters and relatives we extend our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
