........Thomas Banks was born at Woodstocke in Wiltshire County, on St. Giles, England on September 1, 1642. He was the only son of Thomas and Dorathy Banks. He served as an apprentice to Mr. Wallistone, a Merchant in England. After his apprenticeship, he came to Virginia, settling in Northumberland County. He married three times...his third wife was Elizabeth Rogers Keene, the wife of William Keene, deceased. They were married on 8 December 1687. Thomas died ten years later in 1697, age 56. Elizabeth lived 23 years after his death, dying in 1720. They did not have children.

........Thomas was buried alongside Elizabeth's first husband William Keene at "Cypress Farm", at the head of Garner's Creek, on the left side of the road to Lewisetta. Elizabeth is believed to be buried there also. Both William and Thomas's inscriptions were readable circa 1950.
