"Mrs. Mary Owens, wife of William Owens, residing on the northern side of the Ephrata Ridge, two miles . . . of Ephrata, died on Friday of . . . valvular heart disease, after an illness of several years, aged 59 years, 8 months and 23 days. She was a member of the Muddy Creek Church. Besides her husband, the deceased is survived by two children, as follows; John, residing on the Clay and Hinkletown turnpike, midway between Ephrata and Murrell. Katie living with her father. John Slabach residing near Reamstown as a surviving brother. The funeral was held Tuesday morning with services and burial at Muddy Creek Church. Rev. B. G. Weider of Reamstown, conducted the funeral services."
