Mrs. McConnell, daughter of the late Cameron and Lady Warmoth Littlejohn, was a native of Pacolet. She graduated from Limestone College in 1924 with an A.B. degree in Education. She taught school in Spartanburg County before marrying Mr. Thomas Ruskin McConnell Sr., a lawyer and F.B.I. agent who later was employed by the Veterans' Administration. They moved to Columbia in 1935 and made the city their permanent home. Mrs. McConnell was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she taught Sunday School and served on the Altar Guild.
