Married Martha Ann Eda (Thomas) Patty on 15 Apr 1862 in Calhoun Co., Alabama.

Notes from Adline (Connell) Hulsey:
"John Patty IS buried in Camp Creek Cemetery in Cleburne County, Alabama. He and his wife Martha Thomas Patty have no tombstones. I cannot tell where they are buried in the cemetery. I hope somebody knows.

Mr. Bill Abney has told me that John Patty was the oldest son of Charles W. [William] Patty & Nancy Caroline [Thomas] Patty."

The following information is from contributor, Ray, to whom I am very grateful in sharing what he has found regarding my ancestors, John & Martha Thomas Patty.

"In 1840, when his son John Patty was born, Charles W. Patty is shown in Greenville Co., S.C.

We do know that the Patty family was in Newberry County earlier, however. When you study the Thomas family further, you find other connections to the Pattys and to Newberry.

John Patty's great-uncle James Patty (brother of Charles W Patty's father Jesse) died in Newberry in 1795 where his estate was appraised by Martha Thomas Patty's uncle, Gabriel McCool (ref., Newberry County, South Carolina: Historical and Genealogical Annals by George Leland Summer, page 463; Newberry Will Book, p.312)."
