Elizabeth Williams DeStefano, 94, died July 15, 2003.

She was born July 13, 1909, in Scranton, Pa. A graduate of Central High School, she grew up in Scranton, in a loving family.

She left in 1936 when she married her devoted husband Samuel DeStefano, also a native of Scranton. They moved to Newport News, Va., in 1952 where she had a career as a Civil Service Contract Administrator until she retired and moved with her husband to Virginia Beach to be close to their family.

She will be remembered for her quick wit, her joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her love of books, her joy in dancing, and most of all, her sassy spirit.

Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years.

Survived by her daughter, Donna (Judge W.E. Jr) Hudgins: grandchildren, Matthew J Hudgins and Holly (Michael H) Davidson; and great-grandchildren, Austin Davidson, Lauren Davidson, Ryanne Davidson and Drake Davidson; niece, Jean Newberry; and nephew, David G. Williams.

In her last years, she was lovingly cared for by Voncile Faison, Joyce Barnes, Ruth Williams, Darnella Brown, Christine Harris, Rose Porter, Regina Barnes, Marilyn Whittaker, Sukera Speight, Tamika Speight and Karla Barnes-Hamilton. Her family is deeply grateful for the devoted friendship and care these 'angels' provided.

She will be greatly missed by her friends, family and her 'angels.'

A memorial service will be conducted July 17th, at Eastern Shore Chapel by the Rev. Mark Delcuze.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA
