Frederick Jordan a prominent and respected citizen of Knoxville township, died Thursday March 28,at his residence, six miles west of Knoxville. Mr. Jordan was born in Brunswick, Germany, Nov. 9, 1826; came to America in 1847, located at Ft. Madison;then moved to Marion county.
In April 8, 1858, he married Miss. Henrietta Proenaka who survives him'
He embraced the Christian religion at age 14 years and has lived an exemplary Christian life ever since. At the time of his death he was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Knoxville.
Friends and neighbors gathered Saturday March 31, to pay there last and rites of respect. Rev. W.E. Sloane spoke feelingly of the loss sustained by friends, the community and the church. The remains were laid to rest in Lincoin cemetery.
