Residing in Rutherford County, North Carolina at the time of enlistment. He appears on a Roll of Honor for the 49th Infantry North Carolina Troops, Company A. He was captured by the enemy and confined to Capital Prison March 1, 1865 at Washington DC. He moved to York County South Carolina after the war. He is listed on the York County South Carolina census but on the York County South Carolina Confederate Pension List 1907 as deceased.
