Sioux Center News: November 13, 2002

Hendrene T. Kroese, 71, of Hull died Monday, November 4, at Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Kroese was born December 2, 1930, in Hull, the daughter of John and Jeanette (Westra) Te Slaa. She was raised in Hull and graduated from Western Christian High School. She married Gerald Kroese on August 30, 1949, in Hull. They farmed east of Sioux Center from 1953 to 1970, when they moved to a farm north of Hull. They moved into Hull in 1990. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Bereans Society. She participated in Coffee Break Ministries, and Welcome Township Homemakers. She enjoyed camping, attending music programs and following her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Galen; a daughter, Shari; six grandchildren; a brother, John; and two sisters, Joan and Julene.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Freda Te Slaa.
