Obituary dated 9 Sep 1886: Death of William Coupland. William Coupland, one of the early settlers of Fulton County, died at his home two miles north of Wauseon, on August 28, 1886, after an illness of several months' duration. The deceased was born to Samuel and Margaret (Winters) Coupland in Lincolnshire, England, September 10th, 1811, where he was also married to Anna Conyers in 1834, five children blessing the union, one of whom died, three are still living in England and the fifth, Joseph, now resides in Paulding, Ohio. Mr. Coupland came to America in 1851 and settled at Dunkirk, N. Y., where he remained two years, coming to Fulton County in 1853. He was again married at Clarksfield, Huron County, Ohio, to Mrs. Fanny Amelia (King) Lawrence, six children resulting from this union, as follows: Milbert (deceased); Alice M.; May (deceased); Fred; Wright, and Zelpha (deceased). The funeral services were held at the residence Sunday, August 29th, Rev. J. D. Simms officiating and the remains were placed in the Wright Bayes cemetery.---Fulton Co. Tribune
