Gaynell Woody, 70, of Sylva, formerly of Bryson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, after a period of declining health.Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home. The Rev. Benny Bagwell and Raymond Matthews officiated. Burial was at Woody Cemetery in Bryson City.A native of Swain County, she was a daughter of the late Walker W. and Mary Shuler Woody.She was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.Surviving is one brother, Wayne Woody of Durham.
