Jacob Schieffelin (also known as Jacob Schieffelin, Jr.) was a son of Jacob Schieffelin and Elizabeth Brard.
He married Emily P. Ryon, a daughter of Charles Ryon and Susanna Gertrude White, on 1 February 1866 in Elkland, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
Father of four children.
Inventor.
Private, Sixth Regiment, Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry (35th Volunteers) from 22 April 1861 until 18 September 1863.
Hardware merchant in Tioga, Tioga County, Pennsylvania from 1867 until a few years before his death.
He died at the Park Hotel in Tioga.

Be it known that I, JACOB SCHIEFFELIN, Jr., of Tioga, in the county of Tioga and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Machine for Cutting Straw, Hay, Stalks, and other Substances for Fodder ... This invention has for its object the feeding of the substance to be cut with a positive movement; or with such a device as will insure its proper movement toward the knife at each vibration of the same.
