Born Monday, November 04, 1940 in Alexandria, Louisiana, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Eastern Star. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force SAC Division. Mr. Rutledge was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish almost as much as he adored his faithful companion puppy, Sophie.
Mr. Rutledge was preceded in death by his Father, Dr. Haddock Ewell Rutledge, Sr. and Mother, Gertrude Rutledge; Sister, Ann Duco; In-Laws, Mr. & Mrs. Hardy Smith, Jr.; Brother-in-law, James Hardy Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Ada Mae Smith Rutledge, Vivian, LA; Daughter, Deb Celano and husband Ron, Jr., Ida, LA; Granddaughter, Shelly Boudria and husband Kelly, Bossier City, LA; Great Grandson, Devin Boudria; and beloved pet, Sophie.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 01 at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM , and again on Wednesday, July 02 from 8:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 02, 2014 at Southern Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, in Winnfield.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Brent Chandler, Kyle Whisonate, Nick Rowell, Mike Smith, Craig Bartley and Bobby Poisso,
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport.
