Daughter of Leonardus (Leon) Johannes Herckenrath and Juliette Louisa McCormick de Magnan. Adele married Andreas de Fremery, cousin of her sister, Virginie's husband, James de Fremery. They married 27 June 1861, at "Geerbron" the family estate in Monster, Holland. In her father's will, dated May 1858, "To my daughter, Adele Catherina Herckenrath, the portrait of herself and her sister Virginie Theresia, painted by Nicholaas Pieneman; the large dressing glass; her mother's french shawl bought by me in Paris and the jewel ring with an "A" on it."
