Funeral for Ed Maxwell , 88, was Thursday, with burial at Pine Hills Cemetery in Canada.
Mr. Maxwell , who was born in Toronto, died Feb. 6.
He was a retired captain of the Toronto Fire Department. He and his wife Yolande lived in Spokane Valley for 25 years. She preceded him in death.
He attended Opportunity Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He sang with the Kitchen Graters, a group that entertained in seniors residences.
Mr. Maxwell returned to Toronto a year and a half ago.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Maisie.
Survivors include four children, Mary Lou, Skip, David and Rick; a stepson, Richard; a sister, Thelma; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
