EASTMAN.—Mrs. Fannie N. Cross-Eastman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Cross, was born in Enosburg, Va., July 14, 1874. She died in Los Angeles, Calif., Jan. 24, 1929. At the age of four she accompanied her parents to Battle Creek, Mich., where she lived for twenty years. During this time she attended Battle Creek College, worked in the Review and Herald Office, completed a five- year course in the Nurses Training School of the Battle Creek Sanitarium (1892.1897); for two years assisted in the operating room, and for a time assisted the nurses.

After leaving Battle Creek, several years found her working with Dr. David Paulson in the slums of Chicago. Later, she was connected with Dr. Lauretta Kresser in the Eastern part of the country in the giving of health lectures,the conducting of Heath schools and the carrington on of Heath ministry at camp meetings.

On July 18, 1898, she was married to Fred. R. Eastman. Two daughters have been born to this union, who today are in the organized work of the Seventh-Day Adventist denomination. In the various places that her husband has been called to labor, Mrs. eastman has been in the most loyal support to her husband.

Mrs. Eastman leaves to survive her he loss one sister, Mrs. H. E. Rogers, Takoma Park, Washington D. C., two brothers, William Cross of Washington, D. C., and Myron Cross of South Lanchaster, Mass., her husband Fred R. Eastman of Los Angeles, CA, her two daughters Mrs. H. M. S. Richards of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. A. J. Lane of Yuma, Ariz.,one granddaughter, other relatives and a host of friends.

Doctors Magan, Wirth and Elder Parmeme officiated at the funeral service which was held in the Little Church of the Flowers in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park at Glendale, Calif.
