Born December 22, 1906, in Elbert County, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Smith and Lillian (Dunbar) Mann, and the wife of the late Thomas H. Oglesby.
A seamstress, she was a charter member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Frank Oglesby and his wife Nancy of Walnut Grove; two daughters, Betty Johnson and her husband Pat, and Helen Coleman, all of Roebuck; eight grandchildren, Katherine Gaye McNair and her husband Scott, Todd Franklin Oglesby and his wife Jenny, Benny Ray Coleman and his wife Judy, Randal Dean Coleman and his wife Goldie, Wayne Kenneth Coleman, Laura Diane Kirby and her husband Larry, David Virgil Johnson, and Susan Elaine Shook and her husband Nick; twenty-one great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Mann of Hoschton, GA, and Harry Mann of Hartwell, GA; and a sister, Gladys Sams of Greenville.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles Thomas Oglesby; a son-in-law, Kenneth Coleman; and eight brothers and sisters.
Cryptside services were held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, conducted by Rev. Pat Johnson.
The family received friends following the service at the cryptside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Beaver Hills Baptist Church, 3700 South Church Street Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376; or to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
