Early Life: Carolyn was born January 31, 1947, in Ogden to Grant Mix and Vilda Bowman Esplin. She grew up in Beaver, Utah, where she also attended schools. She enjoyed helping on her family's cattle ranch on North Fork. She worked at Zion National Park and actively participated in the 4-H program cooking, sewing and raising sheep.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Carolyn attended College of Southern Utah and later, Brigham Young University, where she received a degree in Clothing and Textiles. Carolyn enjoyed the outdoors and was passionate about shopping and decorating. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. In recent years, Carolyn has made jalapeno jelly under the brand Cally's Jelly and sold her product at farmers markets throughout Utah. Carolyn Esplin Burk, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully May 19, 2014, at her home. She was 67 years old.
Survived By: Six children: Geoff Broadbent, Joel Broadbent, Sarah Broadbent-Manago, Abe Broadbent, Charlie Broadbent and Eli Broadbent; eight grandchildren and sister, MaryAnn Petersen
