Walter P. Arbus, age 96, of Erie, died at the VA Medical Center in Erie, on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Born in Pittsburgh, May 20, 1912, he was a son of Peter and Alice (Ukivitch) Arbus. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force, in the Philippine Campaign during WWII and worked as a carpenter for 33 years for various contractors, including: E.E. Austin, H Platt and Bill Kocher, retiring in 1976. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olga (Mikitos) Arbus, who died in 1984; four brothers, Arthur and John "Jake" Stezen, Paul Vysocke and Nick Arbus; one sister, Mildred Cocoroff. He is survived by three sisters, Lydia Kriska, of McKee's Rocks, Pa.; Eva Pisacich, husband Ed, of Sun City West, Ariz.; Veda Ellis, husband Ralph of Dover, Del. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
