Mrs. Daisy Evalein Blake, age 81 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Born Sunday, February 26, 1933 in Creston, Louisiana, she was a beautiful testimony of grace and dignity during her long bout with cancer. She demonstrated her faith daily as she contended with the treatments and waited for the day when she would meet her Savior face to face.
Mrs. Blake will be best remembered for her hearty, easy laugh and her beautiful singing voice. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. However, we look forward to that glad reunion day on that happy golden shore.
She was an active member of Goldonna Baptist Church until moving to Winnfield in 1977 and joining Faith Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her Parents, Sergio Saenz and Emma McCrory Brigmon; Sisters, Velma Braud and Irene Harper; Husband of 38 years, Ottis L. Blake; Grandson, Christopher Blake.
Those left to cherish her memory include her Daughter, Janice Blake Frazier and husband Bill, Goldonna, LA; Sons, Lanny Blake and wife Debbie, Goldonna, LA and Ricky Blake, Shreveport;
8 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; In-laws, Osbon Blake and wife Mary of Spring, TX, Pencie Rhymes of Winnfield and Wilbert Braud of Gonzales, LA.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21at Faith Baptist Church, from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM , and again on Saturday, March 22 from 12:00 Noon until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Wright and Doyle McGrew officiating. Interment will follow in Yankee Springs, in Goldonna.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Greg Frazier, Erin McGrew, Corey Daniel, Peter McGrew, Heath Sellers and Charles Braud. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerston Blake, Shannon Blake, Raegan Williams, Leland McNabb and Ethan Frazier.
