Chaia Golde (Olga, Gertrude, Gerty) Ruchaisky was born 24 June 1895 in Kaunas, Lithuania to Yaakov (Yankel) Ruchaisky and Sara Rubinsky. Chaia Golde originally went by Golde. She came to the US in early 1921, after her 3 older siblings (Leib/Louis, Itzhak/Isidore, and Pesa/Pola (my great grandmother)). She was working as a tailor at the time. She subsequently met John Weingourt and got married as Olga Rutzisky on 15 May 1922 in Manhattan, New York. Golde subsequently started going by the name Gertrude, and later Gerty. They had a son Gilbert Barnett Weingourt on 14 Dec 1934 in New York City, New York. Gerty suffered from complications during childbirth and died on 21 Dec 1934.
