Father: Warren Marshall Judd
Mother: Dorothy Gwendolyn Henry Judd
Spouse: Ned Robert Jackson
Early Life: Born sixth of eight children.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On Christmas Eve of 1953, Joanna married Ned Robert Jackson of Fredonia, Arizona, at the young age of 16, with the promise that she would finish high school, which she did. They were later sealed in the St. George Utah LDS Temple. After moving 38 times in the first 48 years of their 60 year marriage, Joanna became quite skilled at packing and moving. She could take any house and make it into a comfortable and inviting home. She has been accused of accomplishing more in a day than is humanly possible. She cleaned in detail and has even been known to straighten the shelves while shopping at the store. Joanna loved serving a mission with her husband, Ned, at the Mormon Handcart Historic Sites at Martins Cove and Sixth Crossing in Wyoming. Her humble nature would never confess to her talents of oil painting, sewing, cooking, quilting and putting the needs of others above her own. Her greatest talents were that of being able to distract a crying child or reading numerous books to grandchildren with patience that never ran out. Her creative, imaginative mind invited "Blue Beard" the Pirate to visit her grandchildren for years, with the thrill of treasure maps and discovering his treasure chest. Joanna Judd Jackson left this earth peacefully on Monday, March 3rd, 2014, surrounded by many members of her loving family. She was 76 years old.
