Jess L. England 73 of 421 South Chauncey, West Lafayete, died at 4:40 a.m.. Saturday in St. Elizabeth hospital, where he was admitted Feb. 5.
A native of Tazewell, TN, he lived at Brookston before moving to Lafayette in 1946. He was married to Phyllis Staley in 1947, and retiring from working at Aluminum Company of American (ALCOA) plant of Lafayette in 1956. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
Surviving with the widow are two sons, John E. and Jess L.Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gardner and Mrs. Kathleen Teel, all of Brookston. Stepson Charles Dienhart of Kentland; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty Spaulding of Lafayette, a brother, Henley of Middlesboro, KY and two sisters, Mrs Easter Amix and Mrs. Emily Sutton, both of Middlesboro, TN. Burial in St. Boniface Cemetery.
