Jess L. England Jr. - 56, of Tecumseh Bend, Rt 2, Brookston, died early Monday morning, March 28, 1983 at his home. He had been in failing health the past five years.
Born December 4, 1926, at Brookston, he was the son of Jess and Gladys Stombaugh England. He was a 1944 graduate of Brookston High School and had attended Indiana and Vincennes Universities. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. Jess was a recipient of "The Purple Heart". He was a member of Eagles Lodge 323 in Logansport and American Legion Post 75 at Delphi. His first marriage was to Louise Jeffries Rector of Crawfordsville. His second marriage was to Phyllis Peter.
Surviving with the wife are two stepsons, Tom Rector, Rt. 2, Brookston, and Jim rector, Las Vegas, Nev., one brother, John England of Stanford, FL.; two sisters , Kathleen Littman, Rt. 1, Delphi and Elizabeth Gardner of Lafayette: five stepgrandchildren and one step great grandchild. Many nieces and great nieces.
Services will be theis afternoon, Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harzler Funeral Home in Brookston. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Brookston with military gravside rites conducted by Delphi American Legion.
In memoriams may be made to the American Cancer Society.
