Raymond Eugene Abbott, 68, died Monday morning at Mayo Clinic Health System following an extended illness. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio with most of his life spent in Kissimmee, Florida and the past eight years in Waycross, Georgia.
He was the son of the late Victor Johnson and Gwendolyn Abbott Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley L. Abbott. He worked with the Osceola County Road and Bridge Department as an Assistant Supervisor. He was a member of Narcoossee Baptist Church, St. Cloud, FL and a member of the Pioneer Family of Osceola County.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Abbott of Kissimmee, FL; two daughters, RayAnne Abbott of St. Cloud, FL and Kay Abbott of FL; two sons, Robert Abbott of Waycross and Jeremy Abbott of Kissimmee, FL; five grandchildren, Robert Abbott, Jr., Christopher Abbott, Michael Yarwood, Jr., Jordyn Abbott and Clayton Yarwood; four sisters and one brother; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday (January 30, 2014) at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, FL. Pallbearers will be Robert Abbott, Robert Abbott, Jr., Chris Abbott, Michael Yarwood, Walter Sturges and Jeremy Abbott.
