Bio

I was born in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV. the 2nd of four children born to Dr. Lawrence H. Rolston and Helen L. Buskirk (both deceased).

I became seriously interested in my family genealogy in 2000. The photo (left) is me holding the original tombstone of my great-great-great grandfather, William Rolston (1757-1807). He was originally buried along the Ohio River, but due to yearly flooding, the family moved his remains to a new cemetery on higher ground in 1888, abandoning the old tombstone in favor of a new larger tombstone that included other family members. The orignal tombstone was reclaimed from the bank of the Ohio River and placed in the new cemetery.

I created or manage a modest number of memorials and would happily transfer any of those not closely related to me.
