Mr. Harold "Tiny" Crabtree of Newport departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2013, in Jonesboro. He was 76 years old. Mr. Crabtree was born August 25, 1937, at Oil Trough.

He was a 1957 graduate of Newport High School. Following high school, he went immediately to work. Mr. Crabtree's strong work ethic and determined spirit led him down many career paths. He spent time as a driver for his friends Joe Lewis and Conway Twitty, he also spent time working for Aeroglide in Nicaragua and Honduras. Originally, he returned to Newport to open a sign company with his friend, Sonny Lane. Mr. Crabtree took his many experiences and became a general contractor, establishing Crabtree Construction in 1973. As a general contractor he built many structures.

Mr. Crabtree greatly enjoyed traveling the United States making memories with his girls. He loved Razorback football and tailgating in his motor home.

Mr. Crabtree was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Newport. He dearly loved his church and his church family.

Mr. Crabtree was preceded in death by his mother, Cleo Belle Barrett and his brother, Dr. William Lee Crabtree.

He was a devoted, loving father and was survived by Carlena Adams and husband Jerry of Jonesboro and Bethany Benson and husband Lee of Jonesboro. He enjoyed his role as "Papaw" to Corey Adams, Braden Adams, Nathan Adams and Reagan Benson. He is also survived by Deborah Metheny and husband LeRoy of Tuckerman, and Greg Mosier and wife Rachel of Batesville; and their children; a sister-in-law, Bonita Crabtree of Paragould; a nephew, Michael Crabtree of Paragould; a special friend and co-worker, Barbara Foster of Newport; and many other friends and colleagues for whom he held a special love.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Newport, Arkansas with interment in Maple Springs Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Brady, Corey Adams, Braden Adams, Greg Mosier, Bobby Whitehead, Bob Chatman, David Russell, Dale Koehn, Dennis Haigwood, Doyle "Doc" Hawk, and Jim Heatherly. Honorary pallbearers are the Men of First Baptist Church, and a host of friends.
