Eugene Carmichael, 75, of Bloomfield, passed away at 10:50 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at his residence. Born March 29, 1926 in Hobbieville, he was the son of Richard and Roxie (Burch) Carmichael. He was a real estate broker for 40 years with United Farm Agency, then Carmichael Realty. He was a disabled veteran, and served with the Navy in World War II. He was a member of the Solsberry Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and VFW in Worthington. Survivors include, two daughters, Linda Ratts of Bloomington and Kay Smith of Springville; one sister, Carolyn Sue Jeffers; one grandson, Robert Eugene Weaver of Mooresville; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, and ex-wife, Rosella Carmichael on Sept. 11, 2000. Funeral services will be at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev Henry Mann, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Carmichael Cemetery.S1 US Navy WWII purple heart.
