Charlotte Kennedy passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Born in Rosenheim, Germany on October 14, 1929, she was the eldest of two daughters born to Otto and Paula Kissler.

Charlotte and her sister, Hannelore were best friends and students of dance, performing together in many programs throughout their formative years. Charlotte completed her high school years during the very stressful waning years of the Second World War. Her family lived and worked in war-torn Munich and she was to meet her future husband, a member of the occupation forces, in that same city. Richard, the love of her life and husband of 56 years, brought her back to the United States in the early 1950s, then off to Japan, followed by two different assignments to Germany. Richard and Charlotte eventually retired and returned to the United States in 1969, bringing 5 children to Jacksonville. Charlotte raised five children providing that unconditional love that knows no bounds.

Charlotte is survived by her best friend and sister, Hannelore and her children, Cynthia, Bruce (Victoria), Patricia (Rodney), Mark, Linda Wilson and 4 grandchildren, Police Officer Ryan Scott, Donald Wilson, LtJG Matthew Kennedy and Anna Kennedy.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o clcok in the morning on Friday, November 8, 2013 at The Oaklawn Chapel. The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
