Clarence Ellwin Evans

Graveside services will be at 1pm Wednesday in Mount Hope Cemetery for Clarence E. Evans, 73, Iola, a former Topekan. He died Sunday, July 28 at an Iola hospital.
Mr Evans managed Farmers Co-ops at Bird City and St Francis before he moved to Topeka.
He was born December 13, 1911, at Hale, Missouri, the son of Joseph and Pearl Evans. He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Iola from Topeka in 1978. A son, Larry Joe preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons. Jay Evans, Iola, Kansas and astronaut Ron Evans, Scottsdale, Arizona; a sister, Mrs Lois Pruitt, Tempe, Arizona and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Waugh-Yokum-Friskel Funeral, Iola, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
