He was a Revolutionary War Veteran and served in the Virginia Line as a Private. A headstone with the appropriated design for a Revolutionary Soldier was order by Elsie B. Clore ( Mrs. Irvin Chandler Clore) on 13 April 1935. The headstone was shipped on 29 July 1935 and delivered to Mrs. Clore to be placed in the McDorman Cemetery.
