Sylvia Graves was born on November 17th, 1914, the daughter of August and Christina (Buchholtz) Hermann, in Sykeston, North Dakota. Her family moved to Fessenden, North Dakota, where she graduated from Fessenden High School.
Sylvia was working as a waitress in the Brainerd area when she met and married Vernon Graves on July 5th, 1937. Vernon and Sylvia lived in Montevideo, Minnesota until his death in 1988. She then moved to Minneapolis to be near her family.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen; granddaughters Lisa and Amy; great grandchildren Tanner, Reese and Brynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brothers and sisters: Arthur, Henry, Gordon, Bill, Harry, Allen, Edith, Lila, and Violet.
