Mrs. Emroy Stowell, mother of Clayton Stowell, died Nov. 21 at the Elm Street Nursing Home in Barton, after years of failing health.
Services were held at the Woods and Trefren Funeral Home in Lyndonville Nov. 23 with interment in the Lyndon Center Cemetery.
Bearers were six of her grandchildren, Harold, Merwin, Kenneth, Cleon, Bernard and Robert Stowell.
Emroy Belser was born in Wolfstown, Canada in 1872, daughter of Isabelle Cassidy and James Belser. At about the age of four her parents moved to the United States and located in Victory, where they lived for several years.
While living there Emroy was married to Irvin Stowell and they came to Lyndon. Her her husband died and she lived with their only son,Clayton, occupying a tenement in his house until her health was such that nursing home care was necessary.
She is survived by her son Clayton, and eight grandchildren, Harold and Bernard of Allston, Mass, Clayton Jr. of Coventry, Merwin Stowell of Derry Nh., Kenneth Stowell of St Johnsbury Center, and Robert and Irvin of Lyndon; also three granddaughters, Ruth Tylender, Beverly Whipple and Helen Snavely all of Allston, Mass, and 20 great grandchildren.
Here for the service were Mrs Tylender, Mrs Whipple, Harold Stowell, all of Allston, Mass., Merwin of Derry NH and Clayton Stowell Jr. of Coventry.
