He was born June 21, 1923 in Magna, Utah to Joseph and Clara Brusatto. Married Lucille Durando June 30, 1946 in Denver, CO. He graduated from Cyprus High School, and attended Utah State University, Westminster, University of Denver, and University of Utah. Jim served in the U.S. Air force during World War II, where he was shot down in an air raid over Berlin and was held prisoner of war in Stalag 17 for 14 months. He was a Utah legislator and Salt Lake County Deputy Sheriff. He was a proud member of the DAV and VFW, and served them, as he served his country, with honor. He was also a
member of the Knights of Columbus, Magna Chamber of Commerce, and the Magna Area Council. Jim was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survived by his wife, Lucille; four children, Joseph E., Margaret L. Brusatto, Charmaine C. (Mike) Retford, and Jim J. Jr. (Angi); mother, Clara; nine special grandchildren, Trisha, Sonny, Georgia, Chris, Brian, Mike,
Olivia, Alyssa, and Gabriella; six great-grandchildren, Anthony, Audra, Autumn, Jacob, Cameron, and Stevie; sisters, Julia Etcheverry and Joann
Toole; and brother, Joseph. Preceded in death by father; brother, Frank; and sister, Mary.
We love you and will miss you dearly, especially the grandkids. He is a true American hero.
