FORT SCOTT, Kan.- Marguerite "Marge" Beal, 77, of Fort Scott, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Beal was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Denver County, Colo. She was retired from DuPont, a former member of Green Valley Baptist Church and president of Olson Frary Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Beal of Fort Scott; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Joyce Austin and Johnny Jones of Fouke, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, Elmer Ray Jr. and Anna Beal of Wauconda, Wash.; four grandchildren, Kayko Lin Beal, Nina Beal, Francis Beal and Phiscilla A. Hendershot; and one great-grandson, Beau Tanner Hendershot.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cheney Witt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Ridge officiating. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.

FORT SCOTT, Kan.- Marguerite "Marge" Beal, 77, of Fort Scott, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in a local hospital.
