George Riley Mikels, 77, Lafayette, R.R.2, died at 4:25 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth hospital after a two-weeks' illness. Native of Romney, he had lived for 40 years eight miles north of here on State Road 43.
In 1885 he married Catherine Crouch who died seven years ago.

Surviving are six sons and a daughter; William and Robert of Battle Ground; Albert, Charles and Roy, at home; Frank, of Sacramento, Cal., and Mrs. Laura Schnepp, of Americus. Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lake and Ella Fidler, both of Lafayette, also survive.

The body, removed to the Rogers and Henderson funeral home was to be returned to the family residence where friends may call after 1 o'clock Sunday. Funeral at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Reverend Champlin, of Battle Ground U.B. church officiating: interment in Cairo cemetery.
