Lavina "Vina" Porter was baptized Jan. 18, 1795 at the First Congregational Church of East Hartford. She was the daughter and youngest child of Benjamin Porter (1730-1806) and his second wife Elizabeth (House) Webster Porter (1750-1830), the former widow of John Webster of Glastonbury.
"Vina" married Jonathan Hills Mar. 21, 1814 in Glastonbury. When the church records were later transcribed as Vital Records of Connecticut Churches, "Vina" was transcribed as "Nina" Porter. Jonathan Hills was born in Glastonbury Jan. 11, 1796, died in East Hartford May 16, 1834 and is also buried in Center Cemetery where his name is inscribed as "Johnathan" Hills on his headstone.

(1) Gilbert Hills 1822-1850
(2) Mary Hills 1824-1881
(3) Jane C. Hills 1831-
(4) Elizabeth Hills 1832-
