WINNFIELD -- Mrs. Myrtle Chandler, 57, of Winnfield died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday in Jackson Parish Hospital, Jonesboro, after a short illness.

She was a native of Ashdown, Ark., and was co-owner of Dale's Citgo Station. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 55, the New Jerusalem Baptist Church and was treasurer of the Winn Hunting and Fishing Club.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Chandler of Winnfield; three sons, Arthur Dale Chandler, Archie James Chandler and Jim Bob Chandler, all of Winnfield; three brothers, Archie Bishp of Texas City, Tex., Floyd Bishop and Davie Bishop, both of Ashdown, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Smith of Hitchcock, Tex., and Mrs. Lola Dorton of Hawaii; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with Revs. T. E. Williams and Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Pallbearers will be Paul Green, Willie Franks, Ray Shell, Lamar Tarver, John Adams and Glenn Smith.
